His story beginning in the internationally booming reggae scene in the 1980s, Mac Summer developed his craft as a very prolific producer with an illustrious 30-year career. Expertise and passion guiding his music writing, Summer is a liquid drum & bass artist hailing from New Zealand.
His focus is instead on ensuring his art maintains a quality that moves his audience. Fans have compared his vibe to that of The Prodigy, Pendulum, Netsky and other big-name artists—but the reality is Mac Summer only really sounds like Mac Summer.
His debut single ‘Hands in Our Tills’ has been met with great acclaim upon its soft release, reaching number 4 so far on the Hypeddit drum & bass charts. Crafted in conjunction with Melbourne’s MC Wasp, this track was described as ‘crossover retro wave’ that ‘hints at early Prodigy’. Summer’s 2021 schedule involves the completion of a full album in conjunction with a sparkling global tour.
